Infrasound Sensors

Introducing the Chaparral Physics Model 64.

With the same outstanding performance as the Model 60 series sensors, plus a built-in three-way manifold to simplify connection to wind noise reduction filters.

Model 60/64 Series

The Chaparral Physics Model 60/64 series sensors are dramatically smaller and lighter than competing sensors. They are ideal for use at remote sites and in portable applications.

  • Rugged and field ready
  • Low power consumption minimizes battery weight
  • 13 octave bandwidth
  • Outstanding temperature stability
  • Low vibration sensitivity
  • Excellent unit to unit matching of sensitivity and frequency response
  • Cost effective

Model 50A

The Model 50A is the leading sensor for precision infrasound research today; it has broadband response and very low sensor self-noise. The Model 50A delivers reliable, high-quality, consistent data, even in remote and rugged environments.

  • Certified by IMS
  • Observatory-grade, quick field deployment
  • Low power consumption: <480 mW
  • 0.01 Hz to 50 Hz bandwidth
  • 4-port manifold for wind-noise reduction array
  • Self-diagnostics
  • Switchable high and low gains
  • Differential output
  • Very low noise floor
  • High dynamic range
  • Low seismic sensitivity
  • IP 67 rating, Acetal exterior
  • Replaces and upgrades the MB2000 and MB2005

Model 25/21

Models 25/21 are cost-effective and durable sensors for the mid-infrasound to low-audio bandwidth. These sensors excel in campaign-style deployments.

  • Preferred by military and volcano researchers
  • Low power consumption: <480 mW
  • 0.1 Hz to 200 Hz bandwidth
  • 4-port manifold for wind-noise reduction array (Model 25)
  • Self-diagnostics
  • Switchable high and low gains
  • Differential output
  • Low noise floor
  • High dynamic range
  • Low seismic sensitivity
  • Very rugged: can be deployed in open

*The standard Model 25 ports are approximately equally spaced.

**The standard Model 50 has 4 ports in a single 90° quadrant.

All Chaparral sensors can also be manufactured with the Vx modification, to allowrecording of signals up to 720 Pa peak to peak without clipping.

Delivery of any ordered units will be quoted at order placement and will depend onquantity ordered and on Chaparral Physics’ current production demands. We generallyattempt to keep all delivery times to less than 90 days with a target of 30-60 days ARO.Large orders may have split delivery dates quoted.

Chaparral Physics is able to customize the sensor to your needs. Please inquire aboutcustom sensitivities or other modifications to make the sensor best fit your application.
